Doves – English indie rock icons Doves are back with their first new music in over four years. The band dropped their epic new track “Renegade,” the lead single from their upcoming album Constellations For The Lonely. Clocking in at over 5 minutes, “Renegade” takes listeners on a sprawling dystopian journey. Following their 2020 UK chart-topping album The Universal Want, this marks the band’s return after a lengthy period of writing and recording sessions that began in that same year. The new album, a cinematic blend of change, uncertainty, and determination, was produced with long-time collaborator Dan Austin. Constellations For The Lonely is due out February 14, 2025 via EMI North.
The band’s drummer, vocalist, and co-songwriter, Andy Williams says: “Looking at everyone’s lives over recent years, and considering the news at the moment, ‘Renegade’ feels a lot more loaded in retrospect. We wanted to go for a dystopian feel, thinking about Manchester itself over the next century or so. A totally imaginary thing… ‘Blade Runner’ set in our home city.”

Tedy – Canadian pop sensation Tedy has dropped his latest release “Knee Deep,” a soaring ballad that captures the emotional depth of previous hits like “I Wanted My Heart to Break” and “Manic Party.” Fans have eagerly awaited the song since Tedy teased its demo on TikTok last year, where it famously shocked his best friend. Following the success of tracks like “Rich” and “Talk About Me,” which earned viral success for the Haitian-born, Toronto-based artist, “Knee Deep” continues Tedy’s rise with its introspective lyrics, irresistible hooks, and powerful vocals, cementing his place as one of the country’s brightest emerging stars.

The Velveteers – Queer rockers The Velveteers unleashed their cathartic new track “Suck The Cherry,” a fierce rallying cry led by tour-de-force frontwoman Demi Demitro. The song channels feelings of being fed up, with the line “put my name in your mouth / chew it up and spit it out” capturing its lyrical vulnerability. The Colorado-based trio, featuring dual drummers Baby Pottersmith and Jonny Fig, also shared a striking music video directed by Bella Mazzola. “Suck The Cherry” is the second release from their upcoming album A Million Knives, due out on Valentine’s Day 2025.
“I wrote ‘Suck The Cherry’ on a hot summer’s day when I was locked away in a cabin in Paonia, CO,” says Demitro. “All I had with me for entertainment was my guitar, a notebook, a little drum machine and some cherries I had picked up earlier that day from the farmers market. I was messing around on the drum machine and found this beat that ended up influencing the entire song. It had this poppy/dancey feel but at the same time punk attitude. It had this chorus that was just so fun to sing, and it would always get stuck in my head.”

Debuted during his tour supporting Omar Apollo, the track quickly became a fan favorite with audiences at Austin City Limits and the Hollywood Bowl. One listen to the MGMT-nodding track proves why. The Colin Tunney-directed music video features Malcolm searching for his new look after shaving his head and comes with plenty of fun wig changes.
