31 Days of Horror 2024 Presents Trailer Time: Why Fans Are Concerned About the New ‘Wolf Man’ Trailer

What happens when a new trailer drops for a film, and nobody seems to be talking about?

That was the case just the other day when Universal released a new trailer for their upcoming Leah Whannel written and directed move, Wolf Man.

You’d think folks would be excited for the return of the classic Universal Monster, but the only way I found out that there was a new Wolf Man trailer was when someone posted it on Facebook venting their disappointment at how the movie looks. Yikes!

To be fair, there is significant fear amongst genre fans that the titular character is going to wind up looking like this beast that was on display at Universal’s Hollywood Horror Nights, which is a legit concern.

Normally we’re on top of things like trailers here, but this was clearly a miss on our part, since the latest one has amassed 2.5 million views on YouTube in just a day. In that case, you may have already seen it; if not, you can take a gander at it below. As for what it’s showing, it doesn’t look bad to me at all. I also have faith in Leah Whannel, whose take on The Invisible Man was a commercial and critical success just as COVID hit.

If you’re looking for a traditional werewolf film, Wolf Man may not be it. In fact, Steven C. Miller’s Werewolves, releasing in December might actually have more bite.

Wolf Man arrives in theatres January 17, 2025.
