The Last Dinner Party – British indie-rockers The Last Dinner Party have been critical darlings since they emerged on the scene in early 2023. The band just released their highly anticipated debut album Prelude To Ecstasy and it’s already being heralded by many as an album of the year. Does it live up to the hype? Yes! The album soars with its combination of audacious bombast, drama, romantic Baroque influences, and the band’s captivating art-rock sound. Speaking on what listeners can expect from the album, The Last Dinner Party states: “Ecstasy is a pendulum which swings between the extremes of human emotion, from the ecstasy of passion to the sublimity of pain, and it is this concept which binds our album together. This is an archeology of ourselves; you can exhume our collective and individual experiences and influences from within its fabric. We exorcised guitars for their solos, laid bare confessions directly from diary pages, and summoned an orchestra to bring our vision to life.”

Shareef – Sudanese-Canadian rapper Shareef is poised to take the music world by storm with his debut single “OMG! (Freestyle),” out now via Universal Music Canada. The 20-year-old Toronto-based artist makes a great first impression with his combination of tongue-in-cheek bars and seemingly boundless charisma. The carefree and light-hearted What I Like Studio-directed music video serves as the perfect vehicle for Shareef’s obvious star quality. How did the rapper, also known affectionately as Currly, decide on “OMG! (Freestyle)” to be his first single? Shareef explains: “I made this song a while ago. I used to tease snippets to my socials and my fans loved this one so I’m glad that it gets to be my first single and I can’t wait to share more!” The future is bright for Shareef!

charlieonnafriday – Seattle native charlieonnafriday has yet to turn 21 and he’s already amassed over 1 billion streams. The pop-rapper is sure to keep that momentum going with the release of “Somebody New,” his new single out now via Island Records. With its irresistible chorus and Charlie’s signature delivery, the new track is a certified bop and has an arena-ready sound. Explaining the message of “Somebody New,” Charlie says: “‘Somebody New’ is a simple but relatable song about love and heartache. It’s the universal experience of watching your ex date the same person they told you not to worry about, while having those lingering unanswered thoughts wondering if they still love and think about you.”

Bones and Jones – Australian alt-rockers Bones and Jones are out now with their new EP In Blue. The 4-song project promises to plunge listeners into a kaleidoscope of emotions and contains the band’s previously released singles “Simple Passion” and “Need It.” New songs “In Ya Nature” and “Every Morning” round out the EP. The change in musical direction for Bones and Jones can be traced back to the recording of “In Ya Nature”, which led the band to trade in their slide guitar and dive deep into a synth-laden sound. The timely release comes just ahead of the band’s upcoming SXSW debut. Expect to see and hear a lot more from Bones and Jones this year.
