Freddie Mercury and Eric Carr, 20 Years Gone – Biff Bam Pop Remembers Them Both

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the passing of two great rock musicians. One is the legendary frontman of one of rock’s greatest bands, while the other was a longstanding member of yet another iconic act. Though one death often overshadows the other, I think it’s fair to celebrate both their memories together.

Freddie Mercury is arguably the greatest frontman in the history of rock. A brilliant and unparalleled voice and the charisma on stage and off to match, his death at the too young age of 45 remains a rock tragedy. Here’s one of Freddie’s most memorable moments.

In 1980, Eric Carr replaced Peter Criss as the drummer in KISS. He had a huge drum sound, huge hair and was by all accounts was a hell of a wonderful human being. In make-up, he was The Fox and contributed to all of KISS’ 80’s albums, including Creatures of The Night. Eric passed away on November 24, 1991 from heart cancer but his sound lives on, in what could be considered his greatest moment in KISS.
