There’s some amazing happening at the box office this weekend. Hmm…maybe that’s not the right word?
Or maybe we should just simply say…Incredible!
After a long fourteen year wait, The Incredibles 2 has arrived in theaters to massive buzz and strong reviews. While we may love our Marvel Cinematic Universe films, it’s fair to say that the original 2004 film is one of the defining super hero films of the last two decades. With so much anticipation, The Incredibles 2 is going to have no problem topping the box office, and it should do so with record numbers. Look for a first place debut with $150 million.
Also out this weekend is Tag, featuring an ensemble cast that includes Jon Hamm, Isla Fisher and Jeremy Renner. The reviews have been so-so, but most of them have cited that the strong group of actors raises a mediocre script. Look for a third place debut with $15 million.
As for the rest of the top five, Ocean’s 8 will drop to second place with $23 million. Solo: A Star Wars Story will be in fourth place with $8 million, while Deadpool 2 will close things out in fifth with $7.5 million.
So, to recap here are our predictions:
1) The Incredibles 2 – $150 million
2) Ocean’s 8 – $23 million
3) Tag – $15 million
4) Solo: A Star Wars Story – $8 million
5) Deadpool 2 – $7.5 million
Be sure to check back on Sunday to see how the weekend turns out!
