L.A.’s The Buttertones bring No Wave back on their brilliant new single, “Baby C4,” sounding a bit like James White and the Contortions or a little bit like Flesh Eaters. It drops ahead of their Midnight In A Moonless Dream LP. The band will also be touring Europe and the US this year (dates below). The new album hits the street May 4 from Innovative Leisure.

This June will see the eighth studio album from progressive metal titans YOB. Our Raw Heart drops June 8 followed by a US/Canada tour which kicks off on June 14 (dates below). Relapse Records will release the new album, following their recent reissue of the band’s The Great Cessation. Our Raw Heart will be the first new album since 2014’s Clearing The Path To Ascend.

LA’s horror hiphop/punk unit Ho99o9 and industrial band 3teeth are teaming up for a tour. So far, the bands have released two collaborative singles, “Lights Out” and “Time’s Up.” Both are pretty stellar tracks, but I especially appreciate “Time’s Up” as it sounds like Psalm 69-era Ministry. On their own, both bands are pretty great. I wasn’t previously familiar with either one, but industrial fans will love 3teeth and I recently went down a YouTube rabbit hole watching Ho99o9 videos. Catch these shows when they come to your town!
