Did You Know?

First-ever female head writer of Saturday Night Live.

I have been a huge fan of SNL (Saturday Night Live) since I was about 14 years old, and while there have been some great comedians to come and go on the show, Tina Fey ranks among the ‘best of the best’. While the number of regular skits she appeared in may be below other well-known SNL alumni, it was her writing and position as co-anchor in the SNL Weekend Update segment that helped her rise to the top of comedic fame. Since then, she’s written a successful screenplay (Mean Girls), created an award -winning television series (30 Rock), written a best-selling book (Bossypants), become a critically acclaimed awards show host (Golden Globes w/ Amy Poehler), and now she’s taking on the biggest movie opening in the history of cinema (Star Wars: The Force Awakens vs. Sisters on December 18th!).

Best Known For: Saturday Night Live, TV Comedy Show (Tina Fey & various characters), Mean Girls (‘Ms. Norbury’), 30 Rock, TV Series (‘Liz Lemon’), Muppets Most Wanted (‘Nadya’)

Breakout Role (according to the masses): Saturday Night Live, TV Comedy Show

Breakout Role (according to Leo Craven): Saturday Night Live, TV Comedy Show
– I’m rollin’ with the ‘masses’ on this one.

Box Office Status: Double Threat Dynamo (Acting & Writing)

Next Project to Look Out for: Sisters (Hits theaters December 18th)

Most Famous Role: Tina Fey as ‘Sarah Palin’ (SNL clips appear to be impossible to find in their entirety…but here’s one with a few highlights:)

Won for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy (Golden Globe Awards) in 2008 & 2009 for “30 Rock”

Nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay (Awards Circuit Community Awards) in 2004 for “Mean Girls

You’ll probably watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens the weekend of December 18th, but I highly recommend you make it a ‘2-movie weekend’ and check out Sisters too:
