How did I do with my first weekend of predictions? Well, here’s how I thought the box office would turn out:
Paranormal Activity 2: $32 million
Jackass 3D: $20 million
Red: $11 million
Hereafter: $10 million
The Social Network: $8 million
And here’s what actually went down in the top five:
Paranormal Activity 2: $41.5 million
Jackass 3D: $21.6 million
Red: $15 million
Hereafter: $12 million
The Social Network: $7.3
Clearly, I was off with the demand for Paranormal Activity 2 by about $10 million, but as you’ll see in tomorrow’s review the strength of the film was a match for the audience’s hunger for it. For the rest of the top 5, I think I didn’t do too shabbily with my predictions. We’ll see what happens next weekend when the former champion of Halloween flicks, Saw, releases its purported “final chapter” in 3D.
