Dark Shadows Falters In The Shadow Of The Avengers – Biff Bam Pop’s Box Office Wrap-Up Report, Weekend Of May 11th 2012

You can’t stop The Avengers, that’s for sure. The film is breaking records all over the place, including this past weekend, which saw it become the first movie in history to gross over $100 million in it’s second weekend.

Tim Burton, Johnny Depp And Dark Shadows Battle Marvel’s The Avengers – Biff Bam Pop’s Box Office Predictions, Weekend of May 11th, 2012

Most weeks I’d love to be Johnny Depp. Or even Tim Burton, for that matter (minus the kidney stones but I’ll take the mop of hair). This weekend, though, I’m really just happy to be me. Because no matter what happens to me over the next three days, I’m definitely not going to have my ass handed to me by The Avengers. Sadly, neither Johnny or Tim can say the same thing, as their latest film collaboration, Dark Shadows, debuts in theatres. Here’s our prediction for that film’s return, along with what we expect to see The Avengers bring in during its second weekend in release:

Saturday At The Movies: Avengers Assemble – 16 Hours of Avenging

I think Joss Whedon owns a shawarma franchise.  But I get ahead of myself.

There were a bunch of ways to watch The Avengers opening day.  Okay, a bunch of legal ways.  You could go see it during the normal evening hours on the Friday it opens. You can go to the Friday midnight screening.  Or you could attend a marathon screening of all the films in the Avengers series, followed by a midnight premier.

The experience was definitely a unique one.  I met with a group of friends at a local Denny’s for breakfast (it was convenient to the theatre as much as anything else).

Following that, it was fifteen hours of film madness.
