42 Hits A Home Run – Biff Bam Pop’s Weekend Box Office Wrap-Up Report
Two new films were released this weekend, but only one really resonated with audiences. Here’s what went down.
42, the story of legendary baseball player Jackie Robinson, went straight to the top of the box office, overperforming with a very strong $27 million. No doubt the timing is perfect, with baseball season having just kicked off. It’d been a little while since we’ve had an adult drama on top, so that also helped 42 find its audience.

It’s A Numbers Game As Scary Movie 5 Takes On 42 – Biff Bam Pop’s Box Office Predictions
A comedic horror franchise or a film about a legendary baseball player – will either top the box office this weekend? Here are our predictions:
There’s something scary about the fact that this weekend sees the release of the fifth Scary Movie film. That means that the previous four have made enough money to warrant yet another installment. While Carey certainly provides Idol an equal, if not greater, level of star power to the departed Jennifer Lopez, I’m not certain she adds much else to the show. Find out why after the jump!

It’s Time To Shake Things Up at American Idol
With season 11 of American Idol all wrapped up and Phillip Phillips starting his reign as winner, this summer should be filled with rumours and speculation surrounding the Idol judging panel. Who’s in, who’s out and who’s next to take a seat beside Randy Jackson – I am going out on a limb, but I don’t think Randy is going anywhere.
