Everything has changed in the Marvel Universe of the Age of Ultron maxi-series. In a bid to save everything, Wolverine has traveled to the past and murdered the Avenger Hank Pym before he can create the artificial intelligence known as Ultron – who in the present has conquered the planet and decimated mankind.
One continuity, wiped from time by Ultron, a second, marred by the berserker Wolverine trying to set things right. Age of Ultron: The Ghost of Avengers Future
The worst thing that can happen has happened to the Marvel Comics universe. Ultron, the Avengers’ most dangerous enemy, a machine monster built by one of their own, has conquered and laid waste to the planet, and decimated and enslaved mankind. The few surviving heroes of the world have escaped to the Savage Land where they have come up with a plan to save us all.
With access to Doctor Doom’s Time Platform, half of the heroes have decided to go to the future, from which Ultron has masterminded this conquest, and defeat him once and for all. However, Wolverine has different plans, he will go to the past and kill the Avenger Hank Pym, who created Ultron in the first place, before it happens. For the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes of Marvel Comics, the worst thing that could happen has happened. The Avengers’ most monstrous enemy, the evil artificial intelligence known as Ultron, whose only desire is their destruction, machine domination of the planet, and enslavement of mankind, has won.

Even Android Teens Have Daddy Issues In Ultron #1 On The Wednesday Run–April 10, 2013
2013, “The Year of Marvel” continues in earnest this week. And, like last week when I recommended the first issue of the Thanos Rising mini-series, everything kind of runs through Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers.
Not only are the various Avengers titles currently setting the stage for a cosmic event to be published later this summer, but the cast of characters is also front and centre in Marvel Comics’ present-day tent-pole series, Age of Ultron. Of course, all tent-pole comics have spin-offs and tie-ins inherent in their publishing schedule, and Age of Ultron is no different. So that’s what we get today: an interesting one-off, tie-in, succinctly called Ultron.
But it’s not about the big robot bad a title like that might suggest. No. It’s about the big robot bad’s cyborg son!

Age of Ultron: Revelations and Assumptions
Today is a grim day in the Marvel Comics Universe. Ultron, the Avengers’ most dangerous enemy, has won. The world woke up one morning and found itself conquered, mankind murdered or subjugated, and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes on the run or in hiding.
Now the good guys have a plan to take back the Earth. In Book Three, Luke Cage has journeyed to the center of the beast known as Ultron, only to find his old teammate, the Vision, pulling the strings. Shocker! Age of Ultron Book Four – the story, the review, and the rant, continue after the jump.
All Rise For Thanos Rising #1 On The Wednesday Run–April 3, 2013
I’m calling it. It’s only April and 2013 is definitely Marvel’s year.
As a furtive and ardent reader that has historically sat squarely on the DC Comics side of the comic book ledger, even I have begun to slide my way over to the “House of Ideas”. And why? Cool storytelling with a sci-fi bent!
I haven’t been this excited by a space odyssey since the “Sinestro Corps War” storyline in the pages of DC’s Green Lantern. That was in 2007. But Marvel Comics, specifically writer Jonathan Hickman, has grabbed my attention with his current run on Avengers, New Avengers and the promise of his upcoming universe-shaping mega-story, Infinity, due later this summer and fall.
That last publication will co-star the villain known as Thanos. And Thanos Rising, the first issue of which is released today, is that evil entity’s origin. And it’s a must-read.

Age of Ultron is writer Brian Michael Bendis’ swan song on the Avengers franchise. Ultron is the ultimate archenemy of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Beside their destruction all it wants is the eradication of mankind and the coming of a machine age. The story so far – Ultron has won. We all woke up one morning and everything was different – we were living, dying, or worse, in the Age of Ultron.
