So… there’s no “Game of Thrones” this week. HBO has decided they didn’t want to waste anyone’s time airing tonight’s episode because really, who wouldn’t rather spend the evening getting bit by mosquitoes, eating seven-hour old, Salmonella-infused chicken, and arguing with drunk relatives about Obamacare than visiting the Seven Kingdoms and beyond, sharing in swordplay and song, gallantry and treason, bloodshed and boobies?
Needless to say, it’s been a rough week in KnippKnopp-land knowing that this void would be filling my Sunday night; and I’m sure it has been for you as well. So I wanted to help you through it by sharing the five stages of a Game of Throneless Sunday. More after the break.
Marvel’s mighty mutants were back on top this weekend, opening to nearly universal acclaim and big money. Here’s what went down.
It’s the Memorial Day Long Weekend in the U.S., which means this weekend is set to include Monday; on that note, for its first three days, X-Men: Days of Future Past scored a hearty $90 million, just slightly behind the openings for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Amazing Spider-Man and Godzilla. However, the number is still hugely impressive, considering both X-Men: First Class and The Wolverine, both of which were quality films but which had to surmount previously poor entries in the franchise. X-Men: Days of Future Past should have no problems passing the $200 million mark, and even has a shot at being the most profitable in the franchise.
How did we do on the rest? Check it out after the jump.
This is it, the season finale of “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble,” and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes not only have to throw down with The Cabal for the last time, but must also contend with the cosmic-powered Red Skull to save the universe. But is there a far worse threat waiting in the wings? Meet me after the jump for my review of “The Final Showdown.”
Don’t you love the titles? I do. Who knew cloning could be so much fun. Last week’s episode showed Rachael for the Queen Bee that she is and this Queen Bee surrounds herself with drones; powerful men who serve her every wish, but can she trust any of them? Sarah stopped Helena from killing Rachel and now our sisters are on the road looking for the Swan Man. Will they find him? Find out after we splice your Introns. Read the rest of this entry
