I have been waiting for this for a long time. I am a hardcore Godzilla fan. I’ve seen all the Godzilla movies, I’ve seen all the Toho movies, I’ve even seen the, ahem, 1998 American version. I own all the movies, even that last one, and many of them I owned before they were legal in this country. That’s how hardcore I am. So you can imagine I was thrilled for the newest incarnation of Godzilla coming out this week. We’ll see. Meet me after the jump for my spoiler-filled review of the 2014 Godzilla.
Sometimes I dream about packing it all in for a month and going to live in a quiet, remote wooded area, where I can write the Great Canadian Novel. Or just a novel. I don’t want to aim TOO high. Then I watch a movie like Mr. Jones, from our pals at Anchor Bay, and I realize, I’m not going anywhere.
Ever feel like you’ve lost your mind?
I’m not talking about the going “crazy” kind of mind loss, but the kind where you become overly forgetful about things you should easily remember. Maybe it’s brought on by stress, or seriously heavy time constraints, or a “to do” list in your head that’s as long as…as long as…what was that saying again?
Well, imagine that happening to a beloved superhero. Imagine that the reason for his forgetfulness is due to him not agreeing with a plan of action to save the world from his superhero friends. Imagine his friends wiping his mind in order for him to even forget the plan they are enacting.
Now, imagine that beloved superhero suddenly remembering! What next?
