Biff Bam Pop’s Holiday Gift Guide 2013 – Lego Marvel Super Heroes

Maybe you’ve already purchased a Playstation 4 or Xbox One for yourself or someone you love. Maybe you’re holding onto your PS4 or Xbox 360 for the time being (I don’t see myself upgrading from my own PS3 anytime soon). Whatever system you’re enjoying, if you’ve got a Marvel zombie on your life, you’ve got to pick up Marvel Lego Super Heroes this holiday season.

Lego-Marvel-coverWhen it comes to games, I’m not sure if anyone makes family friendly fun ones than the folks at WB and TT Games – the little princess and I have been loving going through Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga lately; if it wasn’t already a bestseller that’s been around for years, I would have happily put that in our guide for 2013. However, Marvel Lego Super Heroes is an equally awesome game, featuring over 100 of your favourite Marvel U heroes, as they do battle with a host of villains, including Doctor Doom.

Unlike the early Lego games, this one follows along the lines of Lego Lord Of The Rings and Lego Batman: DC Universe, which include voice work, which I dig (though some would argue part of the Lego charm was the lack of voices). Animated Marvel fans will recognize some familiar voices, while Agent Coulson himself, Clark Gregg serves as the games narrator/advisor. It’s a lot of fun as you go to town on the environments around you – when Hulk smashes, he REALLY smashes!

I’ve played a ton of Marvel games (though I’m waiting for a Mac version of the desktop Marvel Heroes MMOG to play that one), and I genuinely feel like Lego Marvel Super Heroes is the first to make me really feel immersed in the Marvel Universe. This one will make an awesome present this season.
