Monday October 15th
How I Met Your Mother (8pm): When Lily and Marshall can’t decide on godparents for Marvin, they put the gang to the test to see who would make the best one in “Who Wants to Be a Godparent.”


Alphas (8pm): Firefly‘s Summer Glau returns as Skylar Adams, who Harken and Gary learn is being held prisoner by Stanton Parish. Elsewhere, the team wonders just how far Dr. Rosen will go to avenge Dani’s death.
Gossip Girl (9pm): Serena hosts the Central Park Conservancy’s big gala, of which she is now the newest Board Member; she and Nate both learn something shocking about their significant others; Blair prepares to debut her new fashion line; and Dan meets with publishers.
Hawaii Five-0: Doris McGarrett pays her son an unexpected visit as the team investigates a polo player’s beheading. Arielle Kebbel (90210) and Robbie Amell (Revenge) guest-star.
Revolution (10pm): The gang makes a shocking discovery as they near Neville and his men; orders from Monroe up the value of Danny’s life; and Nora connects with a fellow Rebel.

Castle (10pm): Castle and Beckett’s plans for a romantic weekend in the Hamptons are interrupted when a dying man stumbles into Castle’s backyard, collapsing into his pool. Unable to escape the lure of the investigation, they join up with the small town’s well-intentioned, but inexperienced sheriff to find the killer.

Tuesday October 16th
Hart of Dixie (8pm): When Zoe reads about her fellow classmates’ accomplishments in her Alumni magazine, she is upset that they list her as “retired” and invites the reporter to Bluebell for an interview in “If It Makes You Happy.”
Raising Hope (8pm): Conclusion. The Chances’ plot to spring Maw Maw from a nursing home hits a snag when Virginia begins to wonder if she’ll receive better care there than at home. Meanwhile, Jimmy worries about the onset of dementia as he gets older, so he quizzes elderly patients about staying mentally sharp.
Ben & Kate (8:30pm): Ben throws a party to celebrate Kate’s 21st birthday and invites her high-school friend Molly to the bash—but Tommy isn’t happy about the additional guest. Meanwhile, Ben discovers that his ex-girlfriend Darcy is moving into his former dream home with her new husband.
Emily Owens M.D. (9pm): SERIES PREMIERE! Recent med school graduate Emily Owens (Mamie Gummer) is now a first-year surgical intern at Denver Memorial Hospital, where she quickly realizes that a hospital is a lot like high school — cliques and all. On her first day she encounters her med school crush, Will Collins (Justin Hartley), and high school nemesis, Cassandra Kopelson (Aja Naomi King).


The Second 2012 Presidential Debate (9pm): President Obama and Republican contender Mitt Romney debate foreign and domestic matters in a town-hall meeting.
Sons of Anarchy (10pm): Jax brings a new proposal to the club with serious consequences. Tara has a run in with Otto.

Underemployed (10pm): SERIES PREMIERE! Five friends struggle in the real world post-college in this new scripted dramedy from MTV.

Wednesday October 17th
Arrow (8pm): Oliver makes a move to take down Martin Somers (guest star Ty Olsson), a criminal with ties to the Chinese Triad, and Moira and Walter (guest star Colin Salmon) ask Oliver to take over the company in “Honor Thy Father.”


The Neighbors (8:30pm): Marty and Debbie help Larry and Jackie’s kids, Dick Butkus and Reggie Jackson, get ready for their first day at school with humans. But when an antibullying tactic goes awry, the Bird-Kersees grow frustrated with their neighbors’ parenting advice.
Supernatural (9pm): Sam and Dean investigate a string of murders — the victims of which were all recipients of organs from the same donor.
Modern Family (9pm): Phil can’t accept that Luke wants to quit magic; Gloria’s snoring is out of control; and Mitch stays at home with Lily while Cam goes off to work.
Suburgatory (9:30pm): SEASON PREMIERE! In the Season 2 premiere, “Homecoming,” George feels threatened when Tessa returns to Chatswin with a growing interest in her mother after spending the summer in NYC.
Nashville (10pm): With Teddy’s mayoral campaign moving ahead, Rayna endures an investigation that reveals some explosive family secrets. Meanwhile, Juliette sees Deacon perform with Rayna at the Bluebird, and it’s clear not all feelings fade with time in “I Can’t Help It (If I’m Still in Love With You).”

American Horror Story: Asylum (10pm): SEASON PREMIERE! Season 2 opens with “Welcome to Briarcliff,” in which we’re introduced to the evils of Briarcliff Manor, a notorious insane asylum.

Thursday October 18th
Last Resort (8pm): Even as Marcus and Sam learn that they have been charged with treason against the United States, a greater threat within their own crew is brewing.


30 Rock (8pm): Liz tries to prove to Tracy that women are funny.
Up All Night (8:30pm): Reagan keeps her renewed friendship with Scott’s ex-wife a secret, and Chris deals with stress by smoking.
The Vampire Diaries (8pm): Elena tries to cope with the extreme highs and lows that are part of becoming a vampire; Stefan and Damon almost come to blows while arguing about what is best for her; and a dangerous vampire hunter (guest star Todd Williams) arrives in town.

The Office (9pm): When Jim convinces Dwight that the building is unsafe; Dwight rents a bus and sets up the office inside. Nellie asks for Andy’s help in adopting a baby. Meanwhile, Jim tries to make Pam happy with some pie.
Beauty & The Beast (9pm): When a rising young ballerina mysteriously falls to her death, Vincent senses that the understudy, Victoria, is hiding information about the dancer’s murder in “Proceed With Caution.”
Grey’s Anatomy (9pm): The plane-crash survivors face a difficult choice, which will have far-reaching effects. Elsewhere, Jackson and April are put in a stressful situation when they’re obligated to work together; and Alex must exercise some self-restraint with an intern.

Parks & Recreation (9:30pm): Leslie responds to an STD outbreak among Pawnee seniors by conducting her own sex-education class. At the same time, Tom finds himself gadget-less and turning to Ron for help coping with life without technology; and Ben and April have their first encounter with Congressman Murray.
Scandal (10pm): A paranoid government official drops a bombshell on Pope & Associates; unresolved questions about Quinn’s background create tension among the associates; and Olivia’s old flame returns.
Elementary (10pm): Holmes and Watson investigate the abduction of a child by a serial killer called “The Balloon Man”.

Friday October 19th
Nikita (9pm): SEASON PREMIERE! Ryan takes charge of Division with Nikita by his side, and their first mission under the new regime is to bring in “The Dirty Thirty” — the rogue agents who failed to respond to the Division recall after Percy was killed.


Grimm (9pm): Nick and Hank investigate the murder of a high school academic decathlete.

Saturday October 20th
Saturday Night Live (11:30pm): Bruno Mars hosts and is the musical guest.

Sunday October 21st
The Simpsons (8pm): An auto accident sends Marge car shopping, and after she buys the perfect five-passenger vehicle she realizes that the car would be too small if she were to have another baby, which she is considering, much to Homer’s shock. Meanwhile, Bart and his pals try to discover why Lisa is leaving school early for clandestine meetings downtown.
Once Upon A Time (8pm): A fed-up Belle threatens to leave Mr. Gold, and then she encounters someone from her past. Meanwhile, the dwarfs mine for fairy dust; and, back in fairy-tale land, Rumplestiltskin tries to prevent his wife from being taken by a gang of ruthless pirates.


Family Guy (9pm): When Brian learns that Carter Pewterschmidt’s drug company has developed a cure for cancer but is keeping it from the public to maximize profits, he and Stewie attempt to expose the pharmaceutical bigwig. Later, Quagmire reveals a big secret.
Revenge (9pm): Amanda winds up in jeopardy because of the Graysons. Meanwhile, surprises await both Emily and Aiden; and Daniel gets fed up with being manipulated, so he makes a move on his own.

Dexter (9pm): Despite apprehending a killer, problems plague Miami Metro and Debra feels the brunt of it. To help his sister, Dexter undertakes a risky game of cat and mouse, and Ukrainian mobsters step up their retaliatory efforts.

The Walking Dead (9pm): Traumatic events leave a life hanging in the balance, while the survivors deal with a new threat.

Boardwalk Empire (9pm): Nucky finds himself in a pickle in Washington, D.C., thanks to Harry Daugherty, but seeks an unlikely lifeline in Esther Randolph, and later mulls a proposition from Gaston Means. Meanwhile, in Atlantic City, Owen probes a suspicious fire; Margaret has her hands full with Teddy; Gillian quarrels with Lucky; and Richard meets a fellow veteran.
The Good Wife (9:30): Alicia and Diane are forced to constantly rethink their strategy when an opposing lawyer keeps changing tactics. Meanwhile, Eli wins a victory in his efforts to protect Peter’s image.
666 Park Avenue (10pm): Henry learns that Gavin is under investigation for questionable real-estate transactions and must choose between loyalty to his boss or his friendship with Gavin. Meanwhile, Jane discovers the identity of the thief at the Drake; and Nona sees alarming visions of Henry’s future.

Homeland (10pm): Estes green-lights a covert mission based on intelligence gleaned from Beirut, and picks his own trusted operative to lead it; and Brody is shocked to bump into Carrie at Langley. Meanwhile, Dana and the vice president’s son appear to have something in common.
Treme (10pm): A visit from Annie’s parents at Christmas coincides with news of her record deal, but it takes more than that to sell her mother on her new musical direction. Meanwhile, a protest of the proposed demolition of public housing erupts in violence, but Desiree is helpless in the face of a personal loss; run-ins with the police are becoming increasingly frequent for the Bernettes; and Albert’s condition is finally revealed to the rest of his family.
The Mentalist (10:30pm): The team investigates a small town’s possible gang war involving Rigsby’s dad, who is found injured at a crime scene.
