Watch Now – The Punisher: Dirty Laundry
Here is something absolutely worth 10 minutes of you time – a Punisher fan film staring Thomas Jane, arguably the best actor to portray Frank Castle on the big screen. Jane writes on the films YouTube Page, “I wanted to make a fan film for a character I’ve always loved and believed in – a love letter to Frank Castle & his fans. It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it. It’s been a blast to be a part of from start to finish — we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we did making it.”
Watch and enjoy Dirty Laundry, this amazing bit of Punisher filmmaking. Oh, and it gets crazy violent!
Yi Soon Shin: Warrior And Defender – A Compelling, If Bloody, Comic Book Story Entrenched In Real World History
The medium of sequential storytelling, of comic books, is one that lends itself to a multitude of genres including science fiction, horror, noir and comedy. Most of those genres, when published today, find themselves disguised, wrapped in colourful capes and masks, as superheroes lead the comic book sales charts. But there was a time, not so long ago, when straight-laced western-themed comics were at the forefront of the North American consciousness, when war and romance-themed monthlies sold in large numbers.
Those sorts of artistic choices, those kinds of reading experiences are still around today – just not in the same number as they once were. It’s really a pleasure, then, to find a comic book that stands apart from the tried and true super-powered costumed characters that ubiquitously fill the store shelf racks, to enjoy a change of pace from the general, mainstream experience of reading comics.
The compilation hardcover graphic novel Yi Soon Shin: Warrior and Defender (the first book of an expected trilogy) is one of those kinds of comics.

The Dark Knight Rises Pregame: The Dark Knight Revisited
I have been taken to task recently over my opinions about the film The Dark Knight. Apparently I shocked co-hosts and viewers alike on the second episode of the Biff Bam Popcast when I declared that I despised the film. So much so that in the third episode, JP Fallavollita read a statement, indirectly to me, that pretty much said, “What universe are you living in, buddy?” It was all meant in good fun, and JP is a great online friend whose opinions I respect a lot, but it might be time to defend my opinions on this one.
The Challenge
Now my buddy and editor-in-chief of Biff Bam Pop, Andy Burns, has punished me before for my movie opinions. Upon learning my not-so-fond thoughts on Alien 3, he immediately assigned it to me to review. Guess what he did to me again? Yep, I’m watching The Dark Knight again, for the first time since suffering through it in the theater. I’m a masochist. Just for a reminder, here‘s what I thought the first time.
