Watch With Amanda: What’s on TV this week? April 23 – 29

Highlights this week include a Whitney tribute on Glee, a Law & Order tribute on Community, and potentially good news for Arya on Game of Thrones!

Monday April 23

Bones (8pm): When the corpse of a truck company employee is found in the middle of the woods in “The Warrior in the Wuss,” Booth and Brennan question the victim’s son — and visit his karate class in search of a motive.  Booth’s son returns from England and Brennan is apprehensive about how he’ll react to his new baby sister.

WWE Raw (8pm): The Superstars and Divas of the WWE are working overtime with back-to-back, three-hour editions of live Raw — including John Cena, CM Punk and Chris Jericho.

Hart of Dixie (9pm): In “Destiny & Denial,” Wade wakes up after a wild night of partying with a massive hangover, an uninvited houseguest, and no memory of what happened the night before. Meanwhile, George takes an unplanned roadtrip to New Orleans, and Lemon finally confesses her troubles to her father, Brick.  Scotty McCreery performs “The Trouble With Girls” during a pivotal scene between Zoe and George (oh em gee!), and watch the clip below to see dreamboat Scott Porter perform “Jambalaya.” TEAM ZORGE!

Tuesday April 24th

Glee (8pm): The glee kids pay homage to Whitney Houston by performing her greatest hits. Meanwhile, Emma and Will take a step closer tying the knot.  Mercedes, Santana, Rachel & Kurt perform a lovely, stripped-down version of the ’80s dance hit “How Will I Know”.  Check out the full performance in the video below.  Sometimes I hate Glee and their over the top butchering renditions of classic songs, but this clip gave me goosebumps. Looking forward to Tuesday’s episode!

Cougar Town (8:30pm): Jules and Grayson aren’t ready to give up their financial independence even though their impending marriage will require some sacrifices. Meanwhile, Travis has advice for Laurie after her business is a surprising success.

New Girl (9pm): In “Tomatoes,” Cece encourages Schmidt to go on a date with one of her beautiful roommates, Nick channels all his energy into his vegetable garden, and Jess begins to wish she had the same fiery passion with Russell that he exhibits with his ex-wife, Ouli (guest star Jeanne Tripplehorn).

Private Practice (10pm): Pete and Violet enter marriage counseling; Amelia shuts down emotionally after receiving devastating news; Addison adjusts to the new man in her life; Mason won’t speak to Charlotte and Cooper; and Violet becomes suspicious of a patient’s sister.

Wednesday April 25th

Don’t Trust The B—- In Apt 23 (9:30pm): On top of a demanding internship and two jobs, June also must figure out how to clean up a mess created by one of Chloe’s ill-conceived ideas; James is excited when he lands a role in a body-switching film with Kiernan Shipka (Sally on Mad Men)

Revenge (10pm): When Emily discovers the identity of her father’s killer she makes the Grayson’s pay the ultimate price. Whether or not she intended this to happen, Victoria’s pawns become entangled in an insidious cover-up. And with Declan’s testimony in court, his relationship with a self-destructive Charlotte deteriorates.

Law & Order: SVU (10pm): A reporter and a vigilante group criticize the police for not finding a rapist on the loose in West SoHo, and the detectives keep hitting dead ends until one of the vigilante members is assaulted. Meanwhile, Amaro thinks his wife is having an affair, which causes him to lose focus at work.

Thursday April 26th

I just realized there is waaay too much to watch on Thursday’s!

Community (8pm): When the group’s science project is smashed, they launch a hunt for the culprit and hold a trial, over which the reluctant Professor Kane presides. But Jeff soon realizes there’s much more to the story than anyone realizes. The entire episode is a tribute to Law & Order (bong bong). Check out the promo below.

The Vampire Diaries (8pm):  In the all-new “Do Not Go Gentle,” Alaric finds an unexpected ally to guide him on his dangerous new path, and Damon and Meredith (guest star Torrey Devitto) figure out their next move.  At the school’s 1920s Decade Dance, Bonnie asks Jamie (guest star Robert Ri’chard) to go with her, and Elena asks Stefan to be her date.  But as always—the dance takes a deadly turn.

Missing (8pm): Becca is forced to recall details of a traumatic former case to prove her innocence. Meanwhile, Michael goes to new lengths to protect himself and Oksana.

Grey’s Anatomy (9pm): The residents head to San Francisco for their oral boards; Bailey intervenes after Owen and Teddy get into a heated argument about their young car crash patient; and Mark tries to recruit Lexie for one of his cases — all in “Moment of Truth.” Also – as seen in the preview, April and Jackson get it on!

The Office (9pm): In “Fundraiser,” unemployed Andy crashes a fundraiser for the Senator (guest star Jack Coleman) and winds up adopting 12 disabled dogs. Dwight discovers that winning an auction means losing money, and Darryl teaches Nellie how to eat a taco.

Scandal (10pm): Following a surprising development in the Amanda Tanner case, former friends Olivia and Cyrus disagree—heatedly—and Cyrus tries to help in a probe of the personal lives of Olivia and her team. Meanwhile, the team helps a dictator find his missing family, who have allegedly been kidnapped; and Quinn dates a reporter who’s seeking information.

Friday April 27th

Nikita (8pm): A plot to bankrupt Percy backfires, and Percy snatches Birkhoff’s life savings instead. Birkhoff is then arrested by the FBI while trying to retrieve it, and Nikita needs to free him before Division gets ahold of him.

Who Do You Think You Are (8pm): Rob Lowe tracks clues about his ancestral past and lands in Germany and the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.  Before long, he unearths an unexpected familial connection to the Revolutionary War and America’s founding fathers.

Grimm (9pm): A construction worker’s death exposes a long-running conflict within the creature world and brings reapers to town. Meanwhile, Juliette wants Nick to invite Monroe over for dinner.

Fringe (9pm): The Fringe teams from both worlds are united by a common cause; new developments are linked to the children from the Cortexiphan experiments.

Sunday April 29th

Game Of Thrones (9pm): The end of the Baratheon rivalry drives Catelyn to flee and Littlefinger to act.  At King’s Landing, Tyrion’s source alerts him to Joffrey’s flawed defense plan and a mysterious secret weapon.  Theon sails to the Stony Shore to prove he’s worthy to be called Ironborn.  In Harrenhal, Arya receives a promise from Jaqen H’ghar, one of three prisoners she saved from the Gold Cloaks.  The Night’s Watch arrive at the Fist of the First Men, an ancient fortress where they hope to stem the advance of the wildling army.

The Killing (9pm): Sarah zeros in on a Larsen-family secret; Stan comes to grips with some past indiscretions; and Mitch takes in a runaway girl. Meanwhile, the Richmond campaign entertains a surprise visitor.

Nurse Jackie (9pm): Grace learns that her mother has been in rehab, forcing Jackie to race her daughter to Kevin’s before she spills the beans.  Later, Cruz docks Jackie’s pay over some purloined items; and Jackie sets up an AA rendezvous with Charlie, who turns up in bad shape.

Mad Men (10pm): Don, Roger and Pete team up to rustle up some new clients; Sally lends a hand to a relative.

Veep (10pm): After getting good news on a clean jobs bill in “Frozen Yoghurt,” the staff brainstorm a photo-op idea, but a stop in the White House Situation Room and a gastrointestinal illness get in the way.

Girls (10:30pm): Hannah contacts her college boyfriend, Marnie falls for an artist at a gallery opening, and Jessa lands a babysitting job in “All Adventurous Women Do.”
