Marvel has released these exclusive images to promote the mighty mini-series. Ok. Cards on the table time.
I don’t really know much about Joshua Luna or his older brother Jonathan, better known in comic book circles, when they’re working together (which is often) as, simply, The Luna Brothers.
I do know of their oeuvre of work, mainly Ultra, Girls and The Sword for Image Comics and Spider-Woman: Origin for Marvel. It’s all highly regarded work with an interesting operational relationship between the two brother where both Joshua and Jonathan work on story followed by Jonathan on art chores and Joshua on scripting dialogue. With Whispers, the first issue of a 6-isse mini-series on sale today, Joshua steps out of what could be a comfort zone and does the entire work – from word to image, himself.
The leap to pencil, pen, eraser and art board isn’t as big as you might think it would be.
